While all of the LGBTQ Trump voters interviewed for this story expressed faith in Trump’s interest in protecting the community, some cited insecurities around Vice President-elect Mike Pence, the Indiana governor whose r eputation was largely built on anti-LGBTQ policies and the fight against marriage equality.

Most also emphasized that they were less concerned with the LGBTQ-related aspects of the Trump platform than they were with general issues like national security, economy, and the right to bear arms.
